update:
okay, ladies and gentlemen.
things got a bit out of hand for a while there for our editorial team. but the waters have settled, we are no longer paddling madly to keep our heads afloat and we are finally getting around to going through submissions for issue two. we sincerely apologise for the delay and we know we’ve lost some great submissions in the process but better to wait than to put out an issue that doesn’t have our heart & soul put into it, right?
so anyway, submissions are still open. we’ll be in contact in the next few weeks regarding those that have already submitted and we should have the issue ready for the new year.
you know what they say, all the bad luck happens at once. well, here’s hoping we’ve turned a corner onto happy, luck-filled streets!

issue two delay
hey boys & girls,
so we’ve managed to get ourselves a little snowed under here and have decided it would be a good idea to push back the launch of issue two, rather than put out a half-arsed issue. so this means submissions are still open.
we’re going to aim for an october release, hopefully things will settle down a little by then.

hello hello hello!
we here at verb-ate-him hope that your easter weekend has been fabulous, full of relaxing & that you have all gorged yourself on chocolate. we know we have! we apologise for the slight lateness of the first issue, we were in epic battles with adobe acrobat to get it to do what we wanted it to but we finally won the battle & voila, issue one is ready & raring to go.
so settle down with a nice hot drink & get ready to enjoy some amazing prose, poetry & visual art (oh, one small thing, you will need adobe reader v6 or later to get the full effect of this issue, it can be downloaded for free from http://get.adobe.com/reader/.
we hope you enjoy this issue as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you. spread the word & keep your eyes peeled for issue two submissions opening soon. oh, and don’t forget to sign up to the mailing list so that you can receive each issue directly into your inbox.

finishing touches
we have been absoultely overwhelmed with the response we have had in our submissions inbox. we’d like to thank everybody that has submitted something to us. even if we weren’t able to include your stuff this issue please don’t be discouraged. we love repeat visitors and we’d love to see something new from you in a few months time.
that being said we are currently putting the finishing touches on issue one. it’s a very exciting time for us here and we hope you all like the first issue as much as we do. don’t forget to sign up to the mailing list or follow us on twitter so you will know as soon as we release the issue (which should be within the week! wee!).
so don’t forget to tell your friends about us because the more people know about us and read us, the more likely we are to be able to put together a print version, sell it and then pay our contributors (psst, that’s you guys!).
so keep your eyes peeled and get ready for issue one.

we are getting more and more excited about the upcoming release of issue one and we hope you are too.
don’t forget, submissions are due by 20th march. that’s only two weeks away! we accept poetry, short story, micro-fiction, sound, video and visual art. check out the submission guidelines link on the right hand side of the page for specific information.
and hey, there’s also the mailing list. subscribe to be one of the first people to get issue one in their inbox, even before we put it up on the site. and spread the word. tell your friends, and get your friends to tell their friends. because, the more people you tell, the more people will see your work.
